A modern parable about durians

Three people with blindfolds were asked to describe parts of a durian, a fruit they'd never encountered before.

One touched the skin and said, "It's spiky - so it must be some kind of armour."

One touched the flesh and said, "This must be some kind of creamy, custardy thing."

The third person touched the stem and said, "Clearly, this is just a stick. Now will you let me go home?"

They quickly got into an argument about what they were describing. The only thing they could agree on was that the mystery thing smelled very strange.

When they took their blindfolds off, they saw they had been experiencing the same thing but from different perspectives.

When you rely only on your experiences, you don't get to see the whole picture. Instead, you miss out on essential things. Like the taste of durian, for example.

This is a remix of the parable of the blind men and the elephant. I hope you enjoyed it.

Are there more parables and fables you enjoy? And do you like durian? Let me know
