How to Add Live Notes & Feedback To Your Data Studio Dashboard

If you’ve dabbled in data reporting you’ll know that context is a hugely important part of drawing insightful conclusions. For example, your website may have had high traffic last month, and while your data can tell you which campaigns brought users in, added context can tell you why.

In Google Data Studio, it’s possible to create beautiful data visualisations. But bars and charts can only tell you so much.

This is why I’ve created a how-to guide on adding a simple form and a chart to gather responses into your Data Studio dashboard.

This means that you can add notes to the dashboard on the fly, while automatically including timestamps and other important info.

Another use case is for clients who may have questions about the dashboard - they can immediately pop their queries in and you can answer them in the same chart. All this to ensure a transparent way of working that can keep all parties informed - which is the best way forward when working with stakeholders.
